Antonio Lallo

Antonio Lallo

Born to Italian parents, Lallo studied at Loughborough school of the arts gaining a first class honours in graphic design, followed by a design fellowship position at the school which allowed him the opportunity to explore and develop his interest in typography.

Over the years Lallo's career has taken him from advertising agencies to design consultancies. His interest in popular culture and branding soon became his key area of focus which naturally led him, in the main to fashion clients, an allied creative industry he was drawn to and still finds fascinating today.

As a designer and artist, inspiration is drawn from many different areas and aspects of his life, from the minimalist 60's architecture and interiors of the South of France where he worked frequently as an art director to his local surroundings of Charnwood with influences from Le Corbusier to Warhol and Ettore Sottsass's Memphis.

His artworks are a development from his experiences as a designer, bringing together his well honed sense of colour and shape, and highlighting the importance of colour and imagery in our lives and our emotional responses to them. He engages with the viewer at a subconcious level with the intention of evoking a feel-good factor. His themes explore, probe and interpret the spirit and energy of a place or idea.
